Wii Fit vs. Standard Scale

I recently started weighing myself on the Wii using the Wii Fit program. I was surprised to find that the Wii Balance Board was weighing me as more than a pound less than the scale I had been using before. I've had the scale for a while, so maybe it is worn or something. The Wii board seems pretty sensitive, so I think I'm going to go with it from now on. I just hope it is truly accurate.

Mulan and Church Meeting

I thought Mulan was about average for a Disney animated feature, which means that it is far better than most animated features made by anyone else, but not in the top tier of Disney's filmography. Susan pointed out that Eddie Murphy as Mushu seems to lay groundwork for his later portrayal of Donkey in Shrek. There are similar mannerisms, attitudes, and personalities between the two characters.

On a more serious note, tonight I expect my name to be shared with our church congregation as a deacon nominee. If I am accepted after the period of review, this will be my first time to serve in such a capacity. I was going to be put up as a nominee for deacon at Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo, but that was set aside when I was hired as a staff member (the roles are mutually exclusive). It will be interesting to see how this unfolds at Fairmount.

Watching Mulan for the first time

Yesterday while Susan and I were hanging out with some teens from our 2:42 Bible study, a couple of the girls started talking about how Mulan was such a great movie and how they were going to watch it again, and I happened to mention that I have never seen it. So today one of them texted (what a verbed noun that is) Susan and said that they'd like us to watch it with them tonight.

So they've just arrived, and now I'm going down to watch Mulan for the first time. I'll let you know what I think.
